Course Overview

User Experience Design with Disney Creative Strategy in Miro is an online, self-paced certification course by Coursera developed to provide you with advanced knowledge on using Disney Creative Strategy to create a User Experience design. This program enables students to describe the dreamer, realist, and critic roles in Miro's Disney Creative Strategy. In Miro, you will visualize the Disney Creative Strategy and identify a logical outcome.

The instructor Tricia Bagley, encourages students to learn concepts and put them into practice simultaneously. This teaching format coupled with the option to study in a split screen helps practical learning. It particularly helped me to learn and explore the strategic method simultaneously.

Course Structure

Disney Creative Strategy helped me in:

Defining new brainstorming and developing tools.
Design thinking
- Dreamer: It allows the design team to think creatively and more efficiently while keeping all the critical possibilities in mind.
- Realist: A realist takes the best ideas from the dreaming session and adjusts them to be more realistic.
- Critic: The team analyzes and picks apart the idea and plan. Risks and obstacles are identified in this phase.

The course starts off elaborating on the purpose and process of Disney's creative strategy. We then understood the cases and considered the benefits of the Disney Creative Strategy, reviewed the tools available in Miro, and clarified the brainstorming goals in Miro. Then, we structured the strategy design by diagramming the dreamer, the realist, and the critic roles in Miro.

Save the work which you have done on Simulink, and Matlab.

Hands-on Experience

You will gain practical experience structuring a brainstorming session to attack a design challenge from 3 distinct perspectives in order to arrive at the most viable and creative solution. This work will be completed in the Miro online visual collaboration platform.

Assessment

You can attempt assessments 3 times. Lifetime access to lesson videos are provided. A final assessment is taken to test the knowledge gained by the student. For example, to test the basic history of the topic, the question asked was “Who made this strategy?” The answer being: In 1994, Robert Dilts came up with this strategy.

Final Take

I am currently working as a User Experience Specialist. This course has helped me in analyzing new ideas with an amazing brainstorming method. This course has helped in downsizing multiple factors of design thinking with Disney creative strategy.

Being a UX Designer, we need to explore more aspects of design strategy. This course provides knowledge of design strategy with an ease of learning for anyone with very basic knowledge of industry. One can follow this strategy and come up with an amazing design model to follow that will be helpful in career dynamics, geopolitical outlook, industrial growth and salary growth.
