Applying Data Analytics in Finance

This course provides an introduction to financial analytics. This course will teach you how to use financial analytics in real-world situations. This course will teach you how to analyze time series data, and how to assess the risk-reward tradeoff outlined in modern portfolio theory. Although the main focus of this course will be on corporate stocks' prices, returns and risk, you can also use the analytical techniques to leverage other domains. The course concludes with a brief introduction to algorithmic trading.

You will be able to analyze time series data and create forecasts. Then you can determine the accuracy of your estimates. You will also be able create a portfolio using actual stock price data, optimizing risk and reward. As an analyst, manager or consultant, understanding financial data is a crucial skill.
