Course Description

Robots are today roving Mars, cleaning our floors, building cars, and entertaining us with films. Stephen Hawking may share your world view that super-intelligent people may one day end the human race.

What are the various types of robots available today? What are their specific tasks? These are just some of the questions that this course will address.

Let's start by looking at the basics of robots. You'll discover some of the fascinating uses of these machines by learning about the history of robotics.

Next, we'll be looking at some modern robotics applications and how we relate to them. This will help you understand the context of what's coming next.

This robotics course for beginners will teach you some basic principles of how robots work. You'll learn about the main components of robot design and how they work.

This course is designed for those who want to learn more but don't have Hawkings brains or advanced qualifications in cybernetics. Although you won't need a soldering iron to learn, you will be able to test drive an ERIC – robot from the University of Reading.

You can see some of the steps in this course before you sign up.
