What To Expect:
We will use InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, the industry-standard software for graphic design. I will also cover relevant terms and design principles to help you create stunning projects for print and online. My goal is to get you up to speed as quickly as possible in order to start your exciting new career as a graphic artist.
This course is great for anyone who doesn't want to learn design for a job. Many of my students are mothers looking for fun invitations or cards, students looking to spice up resumes and social media graphics and teachers looking to add creative elements to their homework materials. Design is for everyone! This course is also for everyone!
A private Facebook group is also available with over 16,000 students. This is a great resource that you can use while you are enrolled in the course. This group is a great place to post your projects, receive insightful critiques, and network among like-minded students and professionals around the globe.
All project files included as a free download. You are welcome to use them however you like, or to simply follow the lessons.
As I mentioned, this course also covers a lot more program shortcuts!
Most of the principles that you will learn in this course transcend your current tools. Students use Adobe versions from CS3 to CC 2020 and students even use apps like Sketch and Pixelmator for some of the projects. You will have the best experience with the latest software. I try my best to keep the lessons up-to-date when Adobe updates the software.
Please let me know if you find anything in the lectures that does not apply to the software update. I do my best to keep this course current and add value to you.
Instructor Qualifications & Background:
Derrick has spent his entire professional life in the creative and marketing industry. His passion for technology and art began in high school, when he turned his homework into a job. His career was launched by his internship at Seven 2 Interactive, where he worked with brands like MTV, Netflix, and Nintendo. His branding and graphic design work have been featured in international publications and are regularly featured on top websites.
