Course Description

Learn the essential workflow for lighting in 3dsMax and how to create moods and add more reality to your scenes with lighting. This course includes over two hours of project-based instruction. This book is ideal for beginning and new artists. Highlights include: An overview of standard light types; controlling light decay and attenuation; modeling environments to scale for accurate lighting; using shadow maps for efficient rendering; using Accurate Raytraced Shades; creating soft and diffuse shadows; real-world lighting profiles with photometric lights; exposure controls to view HDR renders; outdoor lighting with daylight system and skylight; altering rendering controls for objects; adding glow effects to geometry and lights; radiosity to simulate indirect illumination; using the Light Lister; creating gobo effects You will need 3ds Max 2009 or higher to view project files.
