Course Description

Managers and leaders must understand the economic and market conditions in order to manage and run a business effectively. This specialization will give you a solid understanding about the operation of markets as well as the macro-economic environment through real-world examples. This specialization will allow you to identify economic factors at the country and firm level that can impact business decisions. You'll also be able to use statistical tools to create an analytical framework and apply economic theory to analyze trends and business environment to make informed business decisions. You will analyze a real business situation and examine its global economic environment. This is your capstone project. The final project will include a business plan using economic theory and statistical tools to analyze the macroeconomic and microeconomic environments in which the company is operating. This specialization is available as part of the Gies College of Business' online programs including the iMBA or iMSM.
