Course Description

This course is a three-week introduction to modern medicine.

This course will give you the medical knowledge and skills you need to communicate better with healthcare professionals.

In a world of anti-science disinformation, it is becoming more important to understand medicine and your health.

This course will cover the wide range of topics that you would encounter in medical school: anatomy, physiology and body systems.

The course will introduce you to medical terminology and explain concepts in everyday language. While you may not be able to understand all the medical terminology, you will gain a basic understanding of the concepts and the confidence to ask your doctor for help in everyday language.

As medical technology becomes more complex and expensive, you will likely need to advocate for your own healthcare or that of others.

This course will equip you with the information you need to make informed decisions about your own health and that of others.

The Mini Medical School was founded by Dr JJ Cohen in 1989 as a leader educator and immunologist. His unique approach will help you learn and you'll be part of a group that has more than 25,000 learners.

Dr Cohen is the recipient of the U.S. National Glaser Award, which recognizes outstanding teaching in medical schools. He also holds honorary degrees at McGill University and Sherbrooke.
