This course provides an introduction to social impact strategies and social entrepreneurship. It also includes key concepts and how to start as a changemaker. Learn how to invent and create new ideas, and the organizational structures that will be used to put them into practice. This course prepares students to start social impact organizations of their own design.
Students will move through the four stages of Define, Design and Pilot to turn their passions for social change into tangible plans that can be used for starting a non-profit or for-profit enterprise. Students will learn how to think strategically, develop an innovative solution, assess competition and perform financial sustainability, and share their impact.
The Global Social Impact House offers an opportunity for students to take part in an educational program that is in person. GSIH provides fellows the community, tools and training that they need in order to grow their businesses. It is a 7-day residential program. The workshops are tailored to fellows' needs and cover advanced concepts such as leadership, business models and design thinking. Fellows will also be able to make meaningful connections across the globe while sharing a host home in an inspiring location.
