Course Description

Variability is part of manufacturing environments. It can impact product quality and yield. This course will teach students why advanced analysis of manufacturing processes is essential for diagnosing and correcting operational problems in order to increase yields and decrease costs.

Learn how to best collect, analyze, and prepare data. Also learn about computational platforms that can help you collect and process data for extended periods of time. You will be better equipped to contribute as an advanced analyst team member and provide valuable inputs regarding effective implementation. Lectures, readings, discussions, and videos will all be used to explain the main concepts. This fourth course in the Digital Manufacturing & Design Technology specialty explores many facets of the "Fourth Revolution" of manufacturing, also known as Industry 4.0. It culminates with a project that creates a roadmap for achieving a professional goal related to DMD.
