Army Institute of Technology is a private college established in 1994 exclusively for children of serving and retired army personnel. It is also known as AIT Pune. It functions under the aegis of Army Welfare Education Society (AWES). The college is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU). The institute is recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). AIT Pune has been accredited by NAAC with an ‘A’ grade. The college campus covers an area of 32 acres. As per the official website, Army Institute of Technology mission is to provide the right environment, to the wards of Defence personnel, for development of physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual quotients, with a view to produce total quality engineers.
The institute offers 4 B.E and one M.E courses. All the undergraduate courses offered by the college are National Board of Accreditation (NBA). JEE Main and GATE scores are accepted for admission to UG and PG courses respectively. AIT Pune has a training and placement cell that looks after the placement of students. Meritorious and students from financially weaker sections of the society are provided with scholarships by the college. AIT Pune campus has a large number of facilities and modern infrastructure for students and faculty members.
