Delft University of Technology is a public legal entity in accordance with the Higher Education and Scientific Research Act (WHW) . Its main tasks are providing scientific education, conducting scientific research, transferring knowledge to society and promoting a sense of social responsibility. The university is classified as a public benefit institution. Within the administrative structure of TU Delft, we distinguish three administrative layers: the Executive Board, the faculties and the scientific departments. The principle of integral management applies at these three administrative levels: the Executive Board, the deans and the department chairs bear responsibility for both the primary process (scientific research and education and valorisation of research) and for support. All support services are bundled in a University Service.
