National Institute of Technology (NIT) Puducherry is one of the thirty-one National Institutes of Technology established in the year 2009 by the Government of India. The institute is spread out on an area of 258 acres. The NIT Puducherry offers B.Tech, M.Tech, and Ph.D. programmes in different specialisations in the field of engineering and technology, applied sciences, and computers and information technology. National Institute of Technology Puducherry has been termed as an institute of National Importance under the MHRD (Ministry of Human Resource Development). As per the NIRF Rankings 2021, the institute has been ranked 144th in the engineering category whereas it was ranked 130th in the NIRF Rankings 2020 in the same category.
