National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal is a public technological institute recognised as an institute of national importance by the GOI. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru laid the foundation for the institute on October 10, 1959. It was formerly known as a Regional Engineering College and renamed NIT Warangal in 2002. The institute is ranked 23rd in the NIRF 2021 Ranking for the Engineering category and 59th in the overall category. The NIT Warangal campus is spread over an area of 256 acres. National Institute of Technology Warangal is striving to achieve higher levels of technical excellence. It promotes effective teaching methodologies and focuses on the overall development of the institute.

NIT Warangal has 13 academic departments and a few research centres in various engineering, sciences, humanities, and management disciplines. The state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities, along with an effective administration, contribute to the pre-eminent status of NIT Warangal. National Institute of Technology Warangal offers an undergraduate program in B.Tech, four postgraduate programs in M.Tech, M.Sc. M.B.A, and M.C.A and research programmes in engineering, humanities, sciences, and management. It assists the departments in the placements of final year students at renowned companies.

National Institute of Technology Warangal is located in Kazipet, Warangal, Telangana, India. It is well-connected to rail, road and airways. NIT Warangal is 2.5 hours drive on Hyderabad-Warangal National Highway 202. Rajiv Gandhi International Airport of Hyderabad is the nearest airport from Warangal. From there, one can take a train or a cab to reach the NIT Warangal campus, which takes around 2.5 hours by road and 2 hours by rail. The nearest railway stations are Kazipet and Warangal. Kazipet Railway Station is 3 km away, and Warangal Railway Station is 12 km away from the campus. Many trains pass through Kazipet junction; hence it is the most preferred one.

National Institute of Technology Warangal health centre has 3 full-time regular medical officers and 2 part-time contract doctors assisted by paramedical staff. It has well established pathological lab facilities where urine and blood tests are done.
