Course Description

The world will produce 50 times as much data in 2020 than it did in 2011. There will be 75 times as many information sources (IDC 2011, 2011). The ability to use this data offers huge opportunities. To make these opportunities a reality, people must be able to use data to solve problems. This specialization is a collaboration with Tableau. It is for those who are new to data visualization and have no previous experience with Tableau. To demonstrate data visualization and data storytelling best practices, we will use Tableau's extensive resources. Examples from real business cases will be shown, as well as journalistic examples from top media companies. This specialization will prepare you to create powerful dashboards and reports that can be used to help people take decisions and implement actions based on business data. Tableau will be used to create powerful visualizations of common data analysis to help you understand and see your data. Predicative analytics will be used to improve business decision-making. You will complete the Specialization with a Capstone project. This involves using sample data to create dashboards and visualizations.
