Course Description

It is an effective way to learn how to sculpt in ZBrush by going through the tutorial projects step-by. As you follow the tutorial, you can see how the tools function and collaborate with your tutor to sculpt a specific model. However, the real power lies in being able use the techniques that you have learned and adapt them to different projects. This adaptability and knowledge only comes with practice and experience in dealing with various situations. This will be done by a series ZBrush sculpting exercises. Each lesson will cover topics ranging from the sculpting pipeline and zsphere armature creation. Each exercise will begin with a review of the technique or skill used to create a particular asset. We will discuss specific tools and walk through how to use them step-by-step. You'll be provided with a second lesson and new assets. You will have the opportunity to adapt what you just learned to a totally different model. We will walk through each step of your exercise and you can then compare your results. We will provide small tips for each exercise but we recommend that you ignore them if they are not relevant. You can see how the tools work as you follow along and sculpt a particular model with your tutor

The real power, however, comes from being able to take the techniques you've learned and apply them in different ways to different projects

To simulate this, you'll be presented with a series of ZBrush sculpting exercises

Each exercise will consist of three lessons covering topics from the sculpting pipeline to zsphere armature creation

In the first lesson of each exercise, we will review the skill or technique using a particular asset

We'll talk about specific tools and go through their application step-by-step

In the second lesson, you'll receive a new asset and instructions for the exercise

This will be your opportunity to apply what you've just learned to a completely different model

In the final lesson, we will go through your exercise step-by-step and you can compare your results

There will be small hints provided for each exercise, but we encourage you not to look at those if possible

These exercises are really your opportunity to practice what you've learned and gain the confidence that only comes through repetition and being able to address any issue that might come up
