The University System of Georgia, a part of each of Georgia's communities in all 159 counties, provides services throughout the state. The USG consists of 26 higher education institutions, including four research universities and four comprehensive universities. It also includes nine state universities and nine college state campuses. The USG also includes the Georgia Public Library System. It consists of approximately 389 facilities spread across 61 libraries in Georgia. The USG also includes the Georgia Archives, which collects and manages records and information about Georgia and its citizens.
