Course Description

This course will teach the basics of text mining and manipulation. This course will provide an introduction to text mining and text manipulation basics. The second week will focus on common manipulation requirements, such as regular expressions (searching and cleaning text), and preparing text to be used by machine learning processes. The third week will focus on basic natural language processing techniques for text and show how it is classified. The last week will focus on more advanced methods of detecting topics in documents and grouping them according to similarity (topic modeling).

This course should be taken following: Introduction to Data Science, Applied Plotting and Charting & Data Representation in Python, and Applied Machine Learning.
