Course Description

This course will help you to see beyond the hype surrounding big data and show you how to build robust, high-scalable batch and real time systems. This course, Applying Lambda Architecture with Spark and Kafka with Cassandra will help you connect different technologies that have been used by companies with the most stringent data requirements (such Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn), to companies that are at the forefront of designing data processing frameworks like Apache Spark. Each component will be examined and details about its architecture will be revealed to help you build a system using the Lambda Architecture. The course will continue with the construction of a complete application. This includes a small application that simulates data production in a stream. It will also address global state, non-associative calculation, restarts and application upgrades. Finally, you'll present batch and real-time views in Cassandra. You'll be able to use these technologies to create better data systems once you have completed this course.

What You Will Learn

In this course, applying the lambda architecture with spark, kafka, and cassandra, you'll string together different technologies that fit well and have been designed by some of the companies with the most demanding data requirements (such as facebook, twi

You'll look at each individual component and work out details about their architecture that make them good fits for building a system based on the lambda architecture

You'll continue to build out a full application from scratch, starting with a small application that simulates the production of data in a stream, all the way to addressing global state, non-associative calculations, application upgrades and restarts, and

When you're finished with this course, you'll be ready to hit the ground running with these technologies to build better data systems than ever
