Course Description

Network (RAN Performance and Optimization) is designed to teach you about LTE Network Optimization. To do this, we must first understand the basics of 4G (LTE), system architecture, LTE protocols and physical channels and signals. We also need to know a bit about logical and transport channels. After the basics are understood, detailed information about LTE will be provided. This includes basic MIMO operations, different transmission modes, and concepts regarding coverage and interference (RSRPS, SINR, and RSQQ). The course will cover LTE network design concepts, how it was initially established, as well as LTE optimization basics. It will also discuss different LTE KPIs like accessibility, retentionability, mobility and throughput. A list of possible solutions to common problems is presented. This course ends with concepts about CS-fallback, VoLTE concepts and analysis and optimization.
