Simple Character Animation: Animating Facial Expressions in After Effects NO PLUGINS

2D character animation in After Effects with just shape layers No plugins or rigging. A little bit of rigging is good for the eyes. But no rigging bones, or anything like that. JUST SHAPELAYERS.

This class is perfect for both beginners and intermediates. Because we are only using simple shapes, it takes your art skills out of this equation and focuses on improving your animation skills.

In preparation for this class, I made 5 faces. The quality of the faces increased from face #1 to 5, which was obvious. This is a great activity. I recommend that you complete the assignment and post it here for discussion.
