The Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), also known as the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, was established 168 years ago in 1853 and is homed on 136 acres of land in Lausanne, Switzerland. The University specializes in the field of science and engineering. The EPFL is one of the two Institutes of Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology with the motto of “Education, Research, and Technology Transfer.”
