Established in 2001, the International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad, was founded as an autonomous university on an N-PPP basis (Not-for-profit public-private partnership). The first IIIT in India is to be established under this model and has evolved into a university with a strong foothold in the research programmes. With an 'A' grade accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), the university offers a range of programmes that include B.Tech, B.Tech + M.S, M.Tech., MPhil, MS and Ph.D. It has been ranked 54th in the NIRF engineering rankings of 2021 and 83rd in the university category.
The university places a strong emphasis on technology and applied research in various social and industrial areas. IIIT Hyderabad is renowned for its seamless, interdisciplinary research orientation and knowledge flow across departments. Many of the prominent centres of excellence in the world are part of the university research portfolio. Several collaborations and co-innovation models providing extensive industry outreach are also available. The International Institute of Information Technology has also been approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
IIIT Hyderabad’s students can use the Library Management System (LMS) and an Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) facility. Faculty and learners can also access recorded class sections from the library’s digital wing.
