St George’s Hospital Medical School established in 1733 was initially based in Hyde Park Corner. It was the second teaching hospital in England to provide formal training to doctors. St George’s is the only university in the UK to specialize in Medicine and Health Care. The University enrolls around 5,500 students every year and 800 faculty members.The University is ranked #1 for graduate prospects by the Complete University Guide. It has received the Athena Swan Institutional Silver Award from Advance HE for promoting equality, diversity and inclusion in the University Community. The University has secured the 4th position in the UK for Research Impact by the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014.
