This class, Line Art Heart Pattern Play, will focus on Illustrator brushes. I will show you how I create a variety of brushes, including scatter, calligraphy, and art brushes. You will be guided through each step and taught how to make these brushes. It's so simple that you won’t believe it!
Although a basic knowledge of Illustrator is helpful, it is not essential. You may have never used these tools before and can now get more in-depth knowledge. This skill set includes learning about how to customize brushes in real-world situations. As we move forward, I will clearly explain each step.
Once you have your brushes ready, you can create unique motifs. It is important to know how to use the brushes when pattern-making. It is crucial that you learn what to look for and how it is done in order to succeed in graphic design or surface pattern designing. It's easy enough to create a pattern. But, it's much more difficult to make a well-designed, unique, interesting, and original pattern. You will learn a lot from my methods and get a better understanding of how designers work. The best part is that you will end up with a sweet pattern that you can use to create a pattern collection, or any other cool project.
Lesson 1: Creating Illustrator Custom Brushes
Lesson 1 will get you started on the path to creating your own brushes that will be so helpful in completing this and many other creative pattern layouts.
Lesson 2 - Adjusting Brushes to Draw Hearts
This lesson will teach you how to use the brushes you created in Lesson 1 and create a variety of shapes and motifs using very smooth strokes.
Lesson 3 - Brush Adjustments and Design Planning
You have created the motifs. Now you will be able to make many adjustments as you work towards your goal of arranging them in a pleasing pattern. You will learn many tips and tricks along the way.
Lesson 4 - Layout Ideas and Demo
To be a true professional, you must learn how to fine-tune patterns. This lesson will teach you how to use creative guides and pre-test the fit of your patterns.
Lesson 5 - Enriching and Fine Tuning Your Pattern
This lesson will focus on adding fillers. I will show you how to use the blend tool to create dots that are small, medium, and evenly spaced. You want to achieve a balance between the various motifs, with good flow and even spacing.
Lesson 6 - Enhancing the Layout
This lesson will show you how professional designers work. This lesson focuses on the entire process of designing a pattern.
Lesson 7 - Finalizing, Mockups, and Wrapping Up
This lesson will focus on finalizing, creating mockups, and concluding with some closing thoughts.
