Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi was established on 17th October 1984. MEPCO was established in collaboration with Metal Powder Company, Thirumangalam and Schlenk, who is the German collaborator of the company. The Institution was formed with the efforts of a social welfare organisation, Mepco Schlenk Charities. Mepco Schlenk Engineering College was earlier affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai but the affiliation later got changed to Anna University, Chennai from 2001. The college is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). As per the NIRF ranking for the year 2021, the institute has been ranked 124 in the engineering category. The institute offers admissions to undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes related to various disciplines.
