In Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI) by Coursera, you will learn what Artificial Intelligence (AI) is, explore use-cases and applications of AI, and understand AI concepts like machine learning, deep learning, and neural networks. It’s a self-paced, well-curated beginner-level course of duration not more than 9 hours, taught online by experienced faculty members. It usually requires 2.5 hours per sitting just to regulate your course pace.

In this course, you will learn what AI is, understand its applications and use-cases and how it is transforming our lives. You will explore basic AI concepts including machine learning, deep learning, and neural networks.
You will be exposed to concerns surrounding AI, including ethics, bias, loss of jobs and its impacts on society. You will get a glimpse of the future with AI, get advice for starting an AI related career, and wrap up the course with a mini project.
Assessment and Grading Criteria
The assessment method requires completing assignments and undertaking projects under various modules throughout the degree. One can take attempts at a graded assessment only 3 times every 8 hours.
The evaluations are designed to ensure continuous student engagement with the program and encourage learning. There are instructor-moderated discussions scheduled at stipulated intervals to validate the learners' learning experience.
Final Take
I was in my second year of Bachelors in Technology, Computer Science Engineering (B-Tech CSE), when I started this course. Because Artificial Intelligence is a trending technology, the course helped me gain critical knowledge in the field and in getting a good job after my graduation. The course was also helpful for me in my final year graduation projects. In this course, I learned what AI is, understood its applications and use cases, and how it is transforming our lives. It is indeed a well-curated curriculum and shows AI is for everyone.
