Course Description

This course covers the basics of algorithmic techniques and solutions to computational problems that arise in practical applications. It includes divide and conquer, greedy algorithms and dynamic programming. The course will cover many topics, including how to sort data and how searching works; how to break down large problems into smaller pieces and solve them recursively; what it means to be greedy; and how dynamic programming is used for genomic studies. The course will allow you to practice solving complex computational problems and designing new algorithms.
