Course Description

This project-centered course teaches you how to use the Business Model Canvas, an innovation tool, for personal and corporate challenges. Throughout the course, you will learn how to communicate and identify the nine core elements of a business plan, including Key Resources, Key Activities and Key Partners, Revenue Streams, and Cost Structure. The final project will require you to create a Business Model Canvas that outlines the business case for your chosen product or service. This will be presented in a 1-page document and a 10-minute video presentation.

This course is suitable for individuals interested in learning about innovation best practices and intra-corporate entrepreneurial skills. The materials and experience gained from this course can benefit entry-level and senior-level employees in various industries, such as business, education, healthcare, and non-profit organizations. The only requirement is a willingness to learn and the ability to turn a new idea into an actual business.

To complete the project, access to the Business Model Canvas is necessary. This can be obtained from the Kauffman Foundation, Strategyzer.com, or through the Creative Commons license offered by Strategyzer AG.
