Course Description

Students with at least a high level of English proficiency are eligible to take the English and Academic Preparation-Pre-Collegiate (non-credit) course. The certificate program is intended to assist international and domestic students in developing their academic skills and English proficiency in order to succeed in American undergraduate study.

It takes approximately four weeks to finish the course. The course materials and assignments will require students to work for approximately 5-7 hours each week.

There are 4 modules to the course:

A/ Critical Thinking, Listening, Speaking and Hearing

Writeras Workshop

A/C/ Reading and Note-taking

Capstone Project

Every module includes video lessons and opportunities to practice English and academic skills. There are also interactive discussion boards and grades. The courses can all be completed asynchronously, meaning that you may complete the lesson and its activities at any hour of the day or night provided that your course assignments have been completed by the last day.
