Speech and Language Therapy Assistant

The Speech and Language Therapy Assistant course will help you to support the learning and development for children and adults with communication disorder.

This course introduces speech and language therapy at an entry level. It also explores the responsibilities of a speech pathologist and speech therapy assistant. The science of speech will be covered, starting with the basics of literacy development. Next, you will learn how the nervous system controls speech and swallowing.

You will learn about a variety of speech and language disorders, including Huntington's, ADHD, and autism. You will also learn effective strategies and practice exercises to help patients.

The title Speech and Language Therapy is protected by The Health and Care Professions Council.

A combination of these methods is used to teach you.

An automated, multiple-choice assessment is required to pass the course successfully. Our online learning platform will administer the assessment. Upon completion, you will receive the results of your assessment.

You will be eligible for the One Education CPD Certificate after completing the course. This certificate is proof of your professional development. You can either download the PDF certificate for PS9 or have a hard copy sent to you by post at PS15.

This course will help you to improve your skills and knowledge, whether you are an existing practitioner or aspiring one.

All are welcome to apply for the Speech and Language Therapy Assistant position. There are no entry requirements. You will need a passion for learning, an understanding of English language, numeracy, and IT and to be at least 16 years old.
