The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Nagaland was established in 2010. NIT Nagaland, an Institute of National Importance is a higher education technical institute, is one among the ten newly approved NITs by the Government of India in 2009 under the 11th Five Year Plan. National Institute of Technology Nagaland is commonly known as NIT Nagaland. The varsity campus is spread over 291 acres of land.
