National Institute of Technology Rourkela is a public university established in the year 2002. It is also known as NIT Rourkela. The university was granted autonomy in 2007 and became one of the NITs. The skilled and experienced faculty is responsible for the ever-growing reputation of NIT Rourkela. The university is ranked 20th as per the NIRF Ranking for Engineering category, 2021 and 41 according to overall NIRF Ranking, 2021. The institute health centre is headed by Dr. Champak Bhattacharya and has three regular doctors. It is attached to the Apollo Pharmacy that runs 24*7 catering to students and staff members’ medical needs. There is a facility of the ambulance to attend to emergencies.
