Course Description

A prompt engineer builds prompts that get the best results from large language models (LLM) and generative AI models. This IT course discusses the techniques and tools needed to design the ideal prompts and provides many examples to help you master this valuable skill. We first describe prompts and the prompt engineering process. We then study the basic prompting methods for making AI models. The course explains how to use zero-shot, few-shot and other advanced prompting techniques. The course then explores the Dall-E text-to-image model and its tools, such as style modifiers and quality boosters. We show you how to write effective prompts for Dall-E, experiment with various styles and techniques and enhance your prompts using ChatGPT. We discuss how to use the powerful ‘outpainting’ feature of Dall E to tweak and transform images and lay out the steps taken to generate desired images in Stable Diffusion. We describe Midjourney and its ability to generate images in various styles from text prompts. After that, we go through a few general guidelines for OpenAI prompt engineering and identify the critical elements of an effective prompt. Lastly, we present the five best tips for AI beginners, such as using templates and testing and iterating, which help assure consistency, simplify the process and improve the quality of the model. This IT course offers the most efficient practices you can use to produce the most outstanding results with generative AI. Sign up to be part of the AI revolution as a highly valued prompt engineer.
