IIT Hyderabad is a ‘second-generation IIT', having been established in 2008. With a strong foundation in research and innovation, IITH has produced numerous publications and patents. It also shares an exceptional bond with Japanese Universities that extends beyond academic collaborations, and the architecture is reflective of that, having drawn on heavily from Japanese culture and architecture.
IITH offers 12 undergraduate programs, 23 postgraduate programs, and 15 doctoral programs in branches of engineering, science, design, and liberal arts. To create a unique and holistic system of education, students are offered a plethora of choices, which they can pick from with the help of a faculty advisor. Moreover, the B.Tech program offers smaller credit courses designed to keep the students motivated, engaged, and updated. The institute also has MOUs with various national and international companies, universities and organisations. Some of these are: University of Washington, Akita International University, KDDI Japan, ICRISAT and Indian Institute of Science. The institute comes fully equipped with a technology incubator and a research park that helps foster novel ideas.
Even though the institute has recently completed 12 odd years, it has already made its way up the ranks. NIRF for 2020 ranked IITH at 17th position overall and 8th position in Engineering. Based on QS World Rankings and Times Higher Education for 2021, IITH ranked 601-650 and 601-800, respectively.
The placements records have seen an upward trend since the inception of the institute. In 2021 placements, over 75% of the students got recruited by top companies like Microsoft, Jaguar, Land Rover, Goldman and Sachs, Airtel and OPPO. Many international offers are also included in this, with an average CTC at 22.07 LPA. With a placement rate of 80%, the institute is growing exponentially, year after year.
IIT Hyderabad is committed to translating dreams into realities by creating a holistic, interactive and dynamic environment for its students and faculty.
