Course Description

Database Management Essentials will give you the foundation for a career as a database developer, data warehousing or business intelligence. It also serves as a prerequisite for the Data Warehousing for Business Intelligence specialization. This course will teach you how to create relational databases and SQL statements that extract data to meet business reporting requests. You'll also learn how to create entity relationships diagrams (ERDs), which are used to design databases. These skills will be used to either Oracle, MySQL or PostgreSQL to execute SQL queries and a database diagramming software such as Visual Paradigm or ER Assistant to create ERDs. This course was designed to provide a common platform for learners interested in specialization. Anyone can take the course and immediately begin writing SQL statements in Oracle or MySQL.
