Together, we will create our freelancing story to write compelling bios, marketing copy, and a compelling mission statement. We will learn how to create strong personal branding. We will learn how to create a business card, letterhead, and logo design.
We will learn how to create stellar portfolios and how to present your work in different formats, including a pdf portfolio or a website-based portfolio. We will also discuss how to upload your work to third-party websites such as behance.com.

Finding clients is the most difficult part of freelancing. We will spend a lot of time looking at the different ways that clients can be secured online, offline, and on social media. To present ourselves to potential clients in the best possible way, we will learn how to write bios and profile descriptions. We also learn how to use UpWork to find work.

Pricing your work is key to maximising your freelance earnings. There are many ways to price your work. We will discuss the pros and cons of both hourly and fixed-rate pricing. We help you create accurate, profitable quotes. We also provide practice quotes so that you feel comfortable pricing your work.

Sometimes, working with clients after finding clients can be just as difficult. We will discuss upfront deposits, project scope, and other details to help us create contracts that protect us. We will even create a contract together. I also provide a basic contract as an downloadable resource.

We will discuss common client problems and go over how to deal with them. We will also discuss copyright issues and review best practices in using fonts, photos, and graphic resources for client projects and work.

Your success depends on how well you manage your income and cashflow. We will discuss when it might be a good time to transition from part-time to fulltime freelance, or even quit your job. We will also discuss cash flow basics and how you can manage your income month to month.

This course is dynamic. There will be new content.

This course also includes downloadable resources. It has more pages than any of my previous classes combined. Each section is broken down into bite-sized pieces so you can follow the class with videos or add another level of engagement.
