The University of Hyderabad is one of the country's leading institutions for postgraduate teaching and research. It was established in 1974 as a central university, which is wholly funded by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The university is ranked at 17th position in NIRF overall ranking 2021. Furthermore, in NIRF ranking 2021, the varsity has secured 25th rank in research category and 9th rank in the university category.
