Course Description

The rapid rise in Bitcoin's value and subsequent fall of other cryptocurrencies drew attention to cryptocurrencies as a method of payment. Blockchain technology powers Bitcoin, and is being touted as the next revolutionary technology.

This course will first cover the technical foundations of blockchain. Next, we will review key concepts like consensus algorithms and decentralization. Then, we will examine blockchain as an asset and analyze the dynamics of cryptocurrency markets. We then examine blockchain as a business solution. Our focus is on understanding the business cases where blockchain makes sense.
