Course Description

DesignScript is a detailed look that will allow you to understand the underlying mechanism behind Dynamo's geometry and core engines. You will also learn how designers can make use of this design-focused scripting language to explore parametric processes and to create them. This course Code Blocks, DesignScript, and Custom Functions In Dynamo will teach you about Code Blocks as well as how to access the data types contained within them. Next, we'll discuss the building blocks of DesignScript. We will explain what they are and how they relate to Nodes. The core components of DesignScript will be explained, along with how to call and nest functions. Finally, we will explore how replication guides can be used to maximize the power of DesignScript. To fully harness the power of DesignScript, you'll end the course with an in-depth overview of how to call Custom Functions. This will include a discussion on the differences between Imperative and Associative graph executions, as well as if and else statements, for and while loops (inclusive of nested loops), and how to create and call Custom Functions. This course will give you a better understanding of DesignScript. Dynamo is required.
