Indigenous Canada

Indigenous Canada, a Massive Open Online Course (12 lessons) by the Faculty of Native Studies explores both the past and present perspectives of Indigenous Canadians. This course examines the complex issues facing Indigenous peoples today, from an Indigenous perspective. It also focuses on national and regional Indigenous-settler relationships. The 12 lessons will cover the following topics: the fur trade, other exchange relations, land claims, environmental impacts, legal system and rights, political conflict and alliances and Indigenous political activism. They also discuss contemporary Indigenous life and art.
