Course Description

You will learn how to be a more effective negotiator by taking this course. We provide a framework to help you analyze and shape negotiations, which is different from other negotiation courses. This framework will enable you to present principled arguments and persuade others. This framework will enable you to look beneath conflicts and uncover their underlying motivations. The course will help you to better predict and interpret the actions of others in competition situations. Get feedback and see how other students handled the situation. These cases provide an opportunity to talk about a variety of subjects, including how to prepare for negotiations, make ultimatums and avoid regret. Topics such as negotiating with no power or email and understanding the roles of gender differences when negotiating are advanced topics. We will be hearing from Linda Babcock and Herb Cohen as we close the course. Enjoy.
