Course Description

Skillsets like modeling allow you to create the physical form and shape of a character. However, the ability to rig in Maya allows you to bring your models to life using powerful and robust animation controls. This course, Maya Rigging Basics, will introduce you to the basics of Maya rigging 2017. You'll first learn about Maya's character rigging process and Maya's toolset. You'll then learn how to rig your character using joint hierarchies and IK-based legs with reverse foot set up, IK spine setup with spline spine, and IK/FK switching arms. Next, you will learn how to rig your hips, neck, shoulders, neck and head. You'll also learn how to use blendshapes to create facial expressions. This course will equip you with the skills and knowledge to start rigging your characters in Maya. Software required: Maya 2017.
