Please note that Adobe has de-commisioned the Adobe Textile Designer Plugin. You will not be able to download it for free, as stated earlier (by joining our beta program). This class cannot be unpublished. We are sorry! If you have the plug in, all of the information is still valid. We appreciate your consideration of the class!
Adobe Photoshop CC's Textile Designer is a new set for surface and fabric pattern designers. It simplifies the process of creating seamless repeat patterns. You can now create repeats in Photoshop. All elements can be edited until you send it to the printer. Adobe Textile Designer allows you to create a repeating print that can be created on a basic grid or a horizontal brick. Your work will be displayed in real-time, so you can see the effect of any changes. Do you need to fill in a gap between the tiles? Adobe Textile Designer is a quick solution that allows element continuation beyond the edges of the main tile. It wraps them around the other side to create seamless results. There are no calculations required! It's automatic! This plugin now includes panels that allow you to preview patterns, experiment with repeat styles, define separations, and set colorways. Guess what? You don't even have to pay for it!
This course will show you how to create a repeating pattern in Photoshop using Adobe Textile Designer extension. You will then experiment with different colors after your tile is completed. You will then be guided through the process of applying your new pattern to mockups. The entire course will be done using Adobe Photoshop, with the ATD plugin. There will also be a brief introduction to InDesign to create the mill sheets. You'll be able to find many helpful tips along this journey!
You will learn the core skills necessary to create many of your future designs through the verbal guidance and demonstrations. No matter if you are a beginner or an experienced designer who uses Photoshop to calculate and measure to reproduce your patterns, the ATD will make a significant contribution to your surface pattern design journey. Imagine how much time you'll save!
