Course Description

Everyone tells stories–that’s how we build community and share ideas. We don't always tell our stories as well as we want.

Communicating in the workplace can take many forms: email communications, business writing, in-person meetings, non-verbal communication and public speaking.

The Communication Skills Professional Certificate program is focused on the most important business communication skills employers value, including creating compelling stories and using public speaking tools.

This program will teach you about:

  • How to use effective stories and communication strategies in the workplace.
  • How to use active listening to understand different communication styles and build rapport.
  • How to target a specific audience with your message
  • How to use basic elements of speech communication.
  • How to make a powerful speech.
  • How to use images to present quantitative data.
  • How to combine basic visual design skills with presentation skills.
