Course Description

Grasshopper is a computational design extension to Rhino 3D. It gives architects and designers the power and flexibility they need to work with complex shapes and surfaces. Grasshopper's visual programming tools make it easy to create 3D models.
You can easily modify the parameters to make these models more current. Luis Fraguada, Rhino trainer, introduces the Rhino user the algorithmic modeling capabilities offered by Grasshopper. This overview covers the core functionality, interface, and data collections.

  • See how Grasshopper makes Rhino 3D modeling workflow easier and more flexible
  • Master Grasshopper's interface and preferences, shortcuts, quick operations, and shortcuts
  • Learn what a Grasshopper is and how to make or break connections
  • Master the ability to transmit information between Rhino & Grasshopper
  • Learn about data types, components, lists, data trees and conditions.
  • You will gain experience with Grasshopper through ongoing exercises throughout the course

Luis E. Fraguada, Research Director for Built by Associative data, is an international design and architecture practice based in Barcelona. He is also an instructor at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia. He is also an author of Rhino functionality and a Rhinoceros trainer. He has also designed a 3D food printer. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Design from the University of Colorado and a Masters Degree in Architecture and Urbanism at the Architectural Association of London, UK.
