Defence Institute of Advanced Technology is a deemed to be university established in 1952 as the Institute of Armament Studies in the CME campus. It is also known as DIAT Pune. The university is approved by University Grants Commission (UGC) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The Defence Institute of Advanced Technology stands at 58th position in the NIRF engineering rankings 2021. The campus of the varsity covers an area of 498 acres and it has a total of 50 faculty members.
The university offers PG courses. A total of 31 courses are offered by DIAT Pune. M.Tech, M.Sc. and PGD are the courses offered by the university. GATE score is taken into consideration for admission to M.Tech. programmes. The students of the university are offered numerous state and national level scholarships.
