The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade in Delhi was founded by the Government of India in 1963. The main purpose for the establishment of the Institute was to bring a degree of professionalism to India’s Foreign Trade Management operations. The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade Delhi is spread over a 6-acres of land and is located in the Qutub Institutional Area in New Delhi. IIFT Delhi offers programmes in the fields of Management, Economics, Foreign Trade and International Business. The research impetus at IIFT Delhi is immense, as this institute was primarily established as an institute that can provide research-based consultancy in the subject of International Business.

Indian Institute of Foreign Trade Delhi is located in the famous Qutub complex in New Delhi. It has the advantage of being located in a quiet part of the busy national capital. Many hostel rooms have a view of the Qutub Minar and the Sanjay Van (forest). The closest Metro station from IIFT Delhi is the Hauz Khas metro station which is at a distance of 3 Kilometres from the campus. Anyone who wants to visit the campus can easily do so as it is located in the capital city of India and has access to rail and air travel via the New Delhi Railway Station and Indira Gandhi International Airport respectively. The New Delhi Railway station is approximately 15.2 kilometres away and the airport is 10 km away. Cabs, auto-rickshaws and buses are easily available to travel from the campus and to the campus.
