Indian Institute of Science Bangalore

Indian Institute of Science (also known as IISc) was established in Bangalore, Karnataka in 1909. The QS World University Rankings 2022 has ranked IISC Bangalore at the 186th spot. The institute also holds the 1st and 2nd positions in the NIRF Overall Rankings 20,21. It is well-known for its research-based programs at the UG, Research, and PG levels. B.Sc. (Research), which can be taken in 4 years, is available on the basis either of NEET-UG or JEE Advanced scores.

The institute currently has six academic divisions and 45 academic department. The college also has 13 departments and 6 autonomous societies/centers. IISc Bangalore's active placement cell conducts annual recruitment drives for meritorious students. Around 25% of students were placed last year with salaries ranging from INR 20 LPA up to INR 30LPA. The college has a number of top recruiters, including Oracle, Toshiba and HSBC. Cisco and Dell are also among them.
