Institute Overview

The University of Oslo, founded in 1811 is Norway's highest-ranked institution of higher education and research. UiO is home to more than 27,000 students and 7,000 workers and, according the Shanghai World Ranking, it is one of the Top 100 universities in the world. UiO is home to five Nobel Prize Winners and a strong record of scientific discovery and pioneering research. More than 800 courses are offered in English at all levels. Around 40 Masters and many PhD programs are entirely taught in English.
