A project leader or lead architect supervises an entire team of draftsmen and architects who are working on an architectural project. The architect job captain supervises all the activities of architects as well as draftsmen, and reports developments and problems to the project leader whenever required. They make sure that the team is on schedule and creates plans that meet the specifications of the project manager or designer. The job captain is an architect and can be involved in the design of drafts and drawings. They typically assist in the creation of necessary drawings by using computer-aided drawing software (CAD). An undergraduate degree in architectural studies is typically required for this job. Businesses typically also require at least five years of experience in architecture before evaluating the possibility of a candidate for this position of supervisory responsibility.
